Baking show gets many fans feeling overwhelmed by letter

Marc Elliott may just be the sweetest Great British Baking Show/Great British Bake Off contestant of all time.

Despite the gifted baker narrowly missing the semifinals of season 11, Marc took the time to pen a letter to fans of the beloved Channel 4 show. In it, Marc — who hails from Cornwall, England — thanked everyone involved with the show and reflected on what he considers "the most crazy, intense, wonderful, once in a lifetime experience."

"I feel honoured to be part of this year's Great British Bake Off," Marc wrote. "The bond and friendships made this year are extra special as we were living, baking, and socializing 24/7. For me personally being able to share this bonkers experience with my daughters and dog, Hamish, just made it one of the most memorable periods of my life."

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds' proposed takeover of lowly Welsh football team Wrexham has been approved by the club's supporters trust.

Wrexham play in the fifth-tier of English football -- far removed from the glamour and worldwide reach of the elite Premier League.

But that did not stop Deadpool star Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney saying they wanted to turn the team into a "global force".

Now, after a week-long vote, Wrexham Supporters Trust members have given the Hollywood duo their overwhelming backing, with 1,809 out of more than 2,000 eligible voters lining up behind them at a special general meeting.

Gillian Anderson quit Hollywood after seeing “the worst part of the industry” during her run on The X-Files.

The actor, who has received unanimously strong reviews for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, spent much of her childhood in London before moving permanently to the USA at 11. She then returned to London in 2002, shortly after the end of The X-Files.

“A lot of people didn’t understand when I moved to London after the success of The X-Files and asked why I would disappear from Hollywood,” Anderson recalled to Australia’s TV Week.
